KEIL Heating and Air Conditioning has the unique distinction of being the oldest family owned heating and air conditioning company in the state of New Jersey. Since 1908 A Keil family member has been at the helm of the company striving to provide the very best products and customer service.
The company was founded by Henry Keil in 1908 when he first started delivering Hygienic Ice and Coal by horse driven carriage to the cold water apartments along the New Jersey side of the Hudson river. Eventually the horse driven carriages were replaced by the modern trucks of the era.
As the times changed so did KEIL, Henry's son George Keil joined the company and George was responsible for the move from delivering ice and coal to home delivery of fuel oil. At about the same time the company began to install and service oil fired heating equipment. Shortly after this George's two brothers Henry and Donald joined the company.
As natural gas was beginning to be delivered to homes across northern New Jersey KEIL was there to install service and maintain the then new style of heating equipment. In the early 1960's KEIL was no longer just Heating, KEIL was Heating and Air Conditioning. KEIL was among the first companies to install central air conditioning in the homes throughout northern New Jersey.
It was about this time that KEIL opened it's first location in the Riverdale area where the company provided delivery of fuel oil, installation, service and maintenance of both oil and gas fired heating equipment and central air conditioning systems.
In 1985 George Keil sold off the oil Company and moved the business across the street to Hamburg Turnpike in order to focus exclusively on the installation, service and maintenance of natural gas and LP heating equipment and central air conditioning systems. In 1994 Barbara Keil took over as the company President and added sheet metal fabrication and indoor air quality to the list of services KEIL Heating and Air Conditioning provides.
